Let’s face it. The wellness world is expensive. Well, at least whatever they’re marketing is. Unfortunately, we can’t all afford $200/month yoga studios or weekly grocery trips to Whole Foods.
At Legendary Life, we believe that there is no universal definition to wellness. It’s what makes YOU feel good. We’ve rounded up some affordable ways to achieve the same self-care results without breaking the bank.

And, no, we’re not just talking about lacing up your sneakers and going for a run. Search the internet for free outdoor classes going on in your area, check out YouTube or create a Pinterest board of your own! If you’re willing to spend a little money, there are great apps out there with digital workouts which are a fraction of the cost of a gym membership. Try out Tone It Up or The Became Project for starters!
Self-care wasn’t always about $80 lotions and Moon Powder for your coffee in the morning. How about a nice bath with a little salt and chamomile tea? Or a DIY face mask using ingredients already in your cabinets? Self-care has nothing to do with spending money — self-care is, well, caring for yourself, in whatever capacity that means for you.
There are thousands (maybe millions) of studies that show eating homemade is just better for you. Not only are you knowing what you are putting into your body, but you’re also saving money. Meal prep should be your friend. It’s a version of self-care that isn’t always talked about, but having more control of what and when you eat will put your mind at ease throughout the week.
How are you taking care of yourself this week? Are there any self-care practices that we discussed that you can incoporate into your routine?
Self care should always come first, but don’t let this lead you to thinking that self-care is “selfish”
