It’s totally natural to feel sluggish and lethargic at times. Life can be hectic and reaching for that coffee at 3pm isn’t always the best idea for an energy boost. We’ve rounded up some stretches for you to do that naturally kickstart your energy.



time to stretch

Full body stretch

While you’re still in bed and lying on your back, bring one leg into your chest and gently take it across your body. Gaze over the opposite shoulder, and hold for three to four breaths, then move into the other side.

Post-Lunch stretch

Keep a tennis ball at your desk and when you stand up to take a call (or just to take a break), kick off your shoes and step the ball of your right foot on to the top of the tennis ball and let your heel descend to the floor. Keep your hips over your ankles (no leaning forward or back). Stay for 3 to 5 breaths and then switch feet.

Some of these stretches may be awkward to perform in an office setting, but maybe you can encourage your officemates to do it with you. Not only will this make you feel good, it’ll improve your overall productivity.
