The holiday season is here! While this can be a time of year that is supposed to be filled wtih joy, it can often be very stressful as well. Between the countless parties, purchasing the right presets, cooking for the in-laws amongst many other things to juggle — it’s easy to become anxious and stressed during this busy time of year.
We’ve rounded up some tips to stay healthy and sane as the holiday season starts to ramp up.
While easier said than done, try not to focus so much on the material aspects of the holidays. It’s really about spending quality time with family, friends and loved ones. It’s about giving love and joy to others. Remind yourself of that.
Oftentimes we are so focused on pleasing others this time of year that we forget to take care of ourselves and our own well being. Don’t get so wrapped up in others — remember what you need to do to maintain a healthy body and soul.
Don’t keep things until the last minute. December is always a crazy month — why not start on your holiday shopping in November? Or October? Write your to-do lists early. Seamlessly transition into the busy time of year with a peace of mind that you are ready for it.
It’s not a secret that the holiday season is heavy on the wallet. We are all in different financial places, don’t feel like you have to purchase the most expensive gifts for people if you cannot financially afford it. When that happens, it becomes a snowball effect and you find yourself stressed out even after the holidays are over! Be realistic with yourself and others.
Start writing your holiday To-Do lists! Are you hosting dinner this year? Start thinking about what recipes you’re going to prepare! Set yourself up for success.
